One license. Four sizes.
You buy a font once. It covers every use. The only thing that changes the price is how many people are in your company.
Count everyone: employees, contractors, founders.
Your license never re-tiers
Buy as a five-person studio, grow to five hundred, and the fonts you already own stay yours at the price you paid. You only license at your current size when you buy something new.
Upgrading costs the difference
Moving up a tier? You pay the gap, not the whole thing again. Full credit for what you’ve already spent.
We take your word for it
Your tier is self-reported. We don’t audit, we don’t ask for proof, and we’re not going to send you a compliance letter. Pick honestly and we’re square.
What’s included, at every tier
- Desktop use on as many machines as you like
- Self-hosted webfonts: no pageview caps, no domain limits
- Logos and wordmarks, including registering the trademark
- Print, packaging, signage, environmental and vehicle graphics
- Merchandise and products you sell
- Social, video, broadcast and streaming
- PDF embedding
- Outlining letters and editing the vectors however you want
Most foundries charge extra for the logo rights and the webfonts. We don’t, because splitting one purchase into six invoices is the thing everyone hates about buying type.
Designing for a client?
You never pay for a client’s font. The license belongs to whoever’s brand uses the typeface, so it should be registered to your client and priced at your client’s size, not yours.
Buy at Solo to explore and present. If the work is approved, upgrade to the client’s tier and pay only the difference. Your original purchase is credited in full and goes on their invoice, where it belonged.
At checkout there’s one required field: who is this license for? Enter your client’s name there and their license is issued correctly from the start.
What needs a separate license
Three things, each a genuinely different use: you’d be distributing the font software itself rather than setting type with it.
- Embedding the font files in an app, game or device you ship
- Bundling fonts into a template or product for other people
- Rendering text with the fonts on a server as a service
If that’s you, write to hello@lonemantype.com. These are easy conversations.
Things we’ll never do
We won’t sell your fonts to a machine-learning model, and you can’t either: training generative models on these typefaces or their output is prohibited outright. The outlines are the work.
